Description
Fitzgerald Restaurant opened in 1932 and was one of the best seafood restaurants in New Orleans. Diners would cross the wooden bridge to the clapboard building for boiled shrimp, stuffed crabs and fried seafood piled on slices of toast. Fitzgerald was badly damaged during Hurricane George and it and the other West End Restaurants were totally destroyed during Hurricane Katrina and only the pilings in the foreground of the photo remain..
